Which age group do I register for?
Your daughter's age on July 1, 2026 determines her age group for the 2025-2026 Season.

TEAM TYPES FOR 2025-2026 SEASON

Nov. - April/May

National

  • competitive/imbalanced playing time philosophy
  • aggressive tournament and travel schedule
  • lower roster numbers
  • higher expectation for attendance at practice and tournaments
  • 18-24 tournament days
  • 3+ practices a week

Regional

  • Practice 2 days a week
  • Compete in the WCVBA or NNVL leagues (Reno, Sacramento, and/or Bay Area)
  • Compete in Junior Far Western Qualifier
  • 10-16 tournament days

Local

  • Practice 1-2 days a week
  • Compete locally
  • 5-7 tournament days
  • Competitive and developmental teams
  • Full-time staff as coaches/oversight

  • Players will be placed on teams according to athletic ability first. Other factors (team type request, carpool, etc.) will be considered secondarily.
  • The number of teams we form in each age group will be based on the number of players we have try out in each age group.
  • Team types/schedules will be determined by NNJ staff based on the competitive level of each team. 
  • Players will rarely stay together from season-to-season. It is very rare that players will play for the same coach two years in a row.
