Nathan grew up in Rocklin, CA. He has been coaching since 1999 when he first coached the JV team at Estancia High School in Costa Mesa, CA. He has coached at the collegiate level (the University of Nevada, Reno, Orange Coast Community College and Lassen Community College), the high school level (Estanica HS, Churchill County HS, Galena HS and Damonte Ranch High School) and the club level (Saddleback VBC, Sierra Nevada, Team Nevada, Club Banzai and currently NNJ).

As a player, Nathan played his high school years at Rocklin High School while playing club for High Voltage and Fresno VBC. Collegiately, he played at Orange Coast Community College and William Woods University. He went on to play professionally for Bäd Saulgau in Germany. He also has participated in various beach events. 

A fun fact about Nate, he is married to NNJ Recruiting Coordinator Amy Morris and has two kids, Penelope (12) and Kellen (5).
